Melody L. Witherspoon

Melody L. Witherspoon, Ed.D is an educator. Melody has earned both a Masters of Arts in Educational Administration and a Doctorate of Education from Lindenwood University.  She has also earned a Masters of Arts in Media Communications with an emphasis in public relations from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Harris Stowe State University.  Melody is a certified administrator and teacher, who is a member of the National Education Association, (NEA).  Her published dissertation is entitled, Saturday Academy: Student, Parent and Teacher Perceptions of an Intervention for At-Risk Middle School African American Students in a High Poverty School. She has also been recognized as distinguished alumni of the Mathews Dickey Boys and Girls Club along with awards for dedication to educating and serving students in the University City Public Schools as well as the Hazelwood School District. 

Melody Witherspoon brings a wealth of knowledge in curriculum development, working with at-risk youth, data analysis, community engagement, program management and development.  Not only has Melody Witherspoon spent over a decade providing classroom lecture, she has also contributed many years to student retention.  Her ability to mentor and develop at risk youth has proven successful with a significantly high percentage of youth earning a high school diploma through the Missouri Option Program.  Melody resides in St. Louis, Missouri.
